Steelers Connection: Week 14 game against the Bills will be pivotal for Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers have won three games in-a-row, but their next test might be the greatest as they enter the final quarter of the season.

If you follow the Steelers Connection podcast series, you know I recorded an episode last week stating how the Week 13 game against the New York Giants was a statement game for the Steelers.

I stand by those comments, but after a thorough whooping of the Giants at Heinz Field, you look ahead at the upcoming schedule and doubts start to creep in.

It is tough to ignore, but the Steelers haven’t been the best road team this season. Rather, they have been very inconsistent on that front, and after starting the season with a road win, they dropped their next three. Rebounding with wins in their last two road games, the Steelers are 3-3 when away from the friendly confines of Heinz Field.

Outside of being on the road, the theory of a trap game shouldn’t exist this week. The 6-6 Bills have the best rushing offense in the league, and have been very competitive behind a rather unconventional quarterback. Tyrod Taylor is not your standard drop back passer, and could cause problems for the Steelers defense.

I dive deeper into this game, the statistics and the trends to see just what fans can expect in this AFC grudge match on the latest podcast. You can hear it in the player above.

Either way, if the Steelers can extend their winning streak to four games, beating a quality opponent like Buffalo on the road, things would be looking up for the team heading into their Week 15 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
