Pittsburgh Podcast: Penguins capture 4th Stanley Cup, Pirates struggling and Steelers continue preparing for 2016

The Pittsburgh Penguins raised their 4th Stanley Cup in franchise history, but that wasn't the only Pittsburgh sports news. We talk about it all on the latest edition of the Black and Gold Blitz podcast.

BTSC brings you the latest edition of the Black and Gold Blitz with Christopher Carter and Jeff Hartman as your hosts. The latest show reviews an amazing turnaround of a season for the Pittsburgh Penguins as they looked like they would miss the playoffs at the halfway point, but turned it around and became the best team in hockey to win their fourth Stanley Cup.

You can access the show in the player above, by visiting our BlogTalkRadio page, as well on iTunes by searching "The Standard is the Standard".

Time for the rundown of the show:

The Pittsburgh Steelers inch closer to training camp and the team is pitting their new recruits at defensive backs up against their outstanding wide receiver group to test their abilities early. Meanwhile offensive coordinator Todd Haley says reiterates the 30 points per game goal for the Steelers' offense and we talk why or why not that's realistic.

The Steelers also saw their second player mentioned on the NFL Network's Top 100 list in Le'Veon Bell at 41. We talk about his ranking and where we expect others to fall.

While the City of Champions celebrates the Penguins, the Pittsburgh Pirates' struggles continue as they have now lost five in a row and dropped to third place in the NL Central with a 32-31 record, all while losing catcher Francisco Cervelli until the all-star break due to injury. Jeff goes off on the Pirates over their woes.
