Steelers Connection: When will the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive rebuild be complete?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been rebuilding their defense for years now, but when will the rebuild officially be complete?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been going through a defensive rebuild for years now. As players like James Farrior, Larry Foote, Casey Hampton and Troy Polamalu all left the team, the search for their replacements has been anything but smooth. There were rough years, but the team seems to have a firm grasp on their current depth chart, begging the question if the defensive rebuild is finally complete?

In the latest edition of the Steelers Connection, I take a look at players lost, players added to replace, and just how long, if not already, the rebuild will continue?

Players Lost:
Brett Keisel
Troy Polamalu
Ryan Clark
Larry Foote
LaMarr Woodley
Ike Taylor
Casey Hampton
Aaron Smith
Jason Worilds

Players Added:
Bud Dupree
Javon Hagrave
Arthur Moats
Artie Burns
Sean Davis
Mike Mitchell
Ryan Shazier
Stephon Tuitt
Cameron Heyward

Of course, the answer to this difficult question is much deeper than simply the roster additions and subtractions. I dive into the defensive scheme under Keith Butler compared to Dick LeBeau, where the unit might still have some deficiencies, and just how far off they might be from completing the rebuilding process.

Simply listen to the short podcast above to get all the inside information Steelers fans are certain to love.
