Le'Veon Bell has been dealt a heaping amount of praise from Pittsburgh Steelers fans and nationally for his tremendous play through three weeks of the 2014 season. That continued Thursday when FedEx announced Bell as the recipient of the 'Ground Player of the Week' award.
The award is given to the player with the best rushing performance of the week, and is voted on by fans around the globe.
Bell's performance through three weeks stands alone as he has rushed for 315 yards so far this 2014 season, and is second only to DeMarco Murray of the Dallas Cowboys in terms of most rushing yards across the league.
Although not considered in making the award, Bell's ability to catch the ball out of the backfield makes him a dual threat that's rare to see in today's NFL. Bell has caught 13 passes for 146 yards, which has him ranked in the top-50 in terms of total yards receiving.
The FedEx Air Player of the Week award was given to Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins who passed for 427 yards and 3 touchdowns in their Week 3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
