Corbin Bryant Cut, Monte Ivy Activated

Steelers Digest is reporting that the Steelers have cut Corbin Bryant and activated Monte Ivy from the practice squad. One possible implication of this move is that James Farrior will not start and Stevenson Sylvester will, although this is only speculation.

Ziggy Hood Fined

$7,500 for hands to the face. I think this fines are starting to get out of hand. There are flags for a reason. These type of things should not be fined.

Salary Cap Purgatory Looming?

Got some time? Part 3 of a Series by Ted at SteelersLounge. Looks at the situation of the Steelers Salary cap issues in terms of philosophy, current needs, and recent moves. Parts One and Two are also interesting, & expect 4 & 5 to be as well. Scary, but I expect Colbert to cope.

The Human Element

maryrose's great post earlier this week, NFL Psychology 101 - Welcome to our World, Baltimore explored a wild card in games that you might call the human element. Dejan Kovacevic of the Tribune-Review talked about another side of this element—he suggests treating players as human beings rather than commodities. Both are great articles and I wanted to make sure that the BTSC community didn't miss either one.

89 Steelers Inspire 2011 Cheifs

I love this story about the surprising 2011 Chiefs who have rallied from 0-3 to 3-3. Read about how Todd Haley looked back to his Pittsburgh roots in search of way to inspire a team that seemed on the verge of giving up. Bean any chance you can use your connections to get us all a copy of that video?

I'm stunned. No, no I'm not. These guys absolutely kick ass. And by 'guys' I mean the Benstonium crew. Chris just alerted me that their latest production was up. It's titled Pittsburgh Steelers / SAW Trailer. It's a preview of the Steelers' Week 8 matchup against the New England Patriots this Sunday in the motif of the popular horror movie franchise SAW. Awesome stuff as always, and a perfect way to start a Friday.

A Novel Solution for Beating the Patriots...

Admittedly, there is ZERO chance of this happening. But it is stuff fun to imagine what might happen were the Steelers to take a page from the New Zealand All Blacks champion Rugby team.

Fine With Me

For once I think the League did us a favor. I hope the hit to his pocketbook makes Kemo think twice before incurring more dumb penalties, because not much else has seemed to get through...
