Jim Wexell is reporting via Twitter that Darnell Stapleton just told reporters he will be going on IR. If so, as Wexell notes, Doug Legursky is all but guaranteed a roster spot. It's a busy news day for the Steelers, with reports this AM that Brett Keisel is close to signing a 5 year extension (reported in this fanpost by SteelCage).

Marvel Smith Likely To Retire

Former Pittsburgh Steeler and current San Fransico 49ers tackle is reported to likely be retiring in the near future. Smith has struggled the past few seasons in Pittsburgh to stay on the field due to nagging issues with his back. When healthy Smith was a solid left tackle and was instrumental in the Super Bowl XL run.
