Week ten of the NFL season is here, and so is BTSC to advise you what Tight Ends should end up in your lineup and what guys to let pass you by. Below are three players to start, four to sit, and four suggestions to fill in for those players to sit for this week.
Start:
Tyler Eifert – After finally being healthy enough to play in his first game, Eifert showed up in a big way to weeks ago against Washington. He comes into this game having just had the bye week to rest and getting to face a Giants defense that ranks in the middle of the pack against tight ends.
Delanie Walker- Another TE who came off an injury to have a big game, Walker has formed a rapport with Marcus Mariota that makes him a very valuable asset in fantasy leagues that are PPR scoring. Walker gets lots of shots in the red zone too, meaning he’s a threat to put up double digit points fairly regularly.
Antonio Gates – Gates has come on strong the last two weeks and with his young counterpart Hunter Henry’s status up in the air, it appears the veteran is in line for a decent amount of work at the position.
Sit:
Jimmy Graham – Graham is the second leading scorer among tight ends in standard scoring leagues, so there is some appeal to start him after his big game Monday night. When fantasy players dig a little passed the surface however, they discover that Graham’s impressive point total is thanks to three monster games. The other five weeks he’s played he’s put up only single digit points. Plus, the short week to prepare for a Patriots team that isn’t giving up many points to TEs is not ideal
Start instead: Zach Miller CHI
Coby Fleener- The Saints’ TE put up only four points last week against a terrible 49ers defense that gave up 41 points to the Saints. This week the Saints play the formidable Broncos defense. Stay away from Fleener.
Start Instead: Kyle Rudolph Min
Jason Witten – Witten had a big game last week, but outside of that he’s been held to single digit point totals every week. This week Witten plays a Steelers team that does have issues covering tight ends, but outside of Gronkowski two weeks ago, has been ok in fantasy terms defending the position.
Start instead: Zach Ertz PHI
Lance Kendricks- Kendricks has shown some chemistry with Rams’ quarterback Case Keenam this season, but the Rams are a very bad football team. There’s too much inconsistency here for owners to star Kendricks and feel good about it.
Start Instead: CJ Fiedorowicz HOU
