We can all sleep easier now.
The NFL will release its 2014 schedule April 22, according to Pro Football Talk. At that time, the Steelers will know when they play the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals twice each, then the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs at home, then the Jacksonville Jaguars, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and New York Jets on the road.
PFT covers its posterior, however.
The unveiling of the schedule could be shifted to Wednesday, April 23 or Thursday, April 24. For now, though, the plan is to pull the sheet off the 256-game slate on Tuesday.
Maybe it'll be April 25.
Odds are good the Steelers will play two games in prime time, although the Steelers were stiffed from the preseason primetime slate this year for the first time in several years.
Pittsburgh played and were defeated by the Titans last year, and beat the Jets for their first win of the season. The NFC South was the NFC division they played in 2010, the last season in which the Steelers won a playoff game. They defeated Atlanta, Carolina and Tampa Bay, but lost to New Orleans.
