Ben Roethlisberger takes batting practice with Pirates at PNC Park

Ben Roethlisberger was a guest of the Pittsburgh Pirates and took batting practice before the Buccos took the field against the Chicago Cubs.

Ben Roethlisberger is a phenomenal athlete, not just a football player. It has been known that Roethlisberger's true love is the sport of basketball, and not football. Nonetheless, Roethlisberger and his family were in attendance at the Pittsburgh Pirates game against the Chicago Cubs, and Big Ben got to flash the leather and take some cuts during batting practice.

Although Roethlisberger never 'went yard', his swing wasn't all too bad, and just proves his athleticism off the football field. This was wasn't the first time that Roethlisberger has visited PNC Park to take some batting practice, and Roethlisberger has played on the Steelers' charity basketball team in the past.

Roethlisberger did wear batting gloves while hitting, but whether that is a pre-cursor to him wearing a glove on his throwing had this season is yet to be determined. Roethlisberger wouldn't comment on the gloves after his BP session.

In case you were wondering, the Pirates went on to win the game 4-0 against the Cubs in a rain delayed affair.
