Sterling Moore to visit San Francisco 49ers following visit with the Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting defensive back Sterling Moore Tuesday, but Moore will be visiting the 49ers Wednesday on his free agent tour.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a few visitors at their South Side facility the past few days. Former New Orleans Saints cornerback Patrick Robinson visited and departed without a deal being done. Next up is Sterling Moore, the former New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys defensive back.

Moore is scheduled to visit with the Steelers Tuesday, but his travel plans continue after his stop in the steel city. Per Josina Anderson of ESPN, Moore is visiting the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday following his meeting with the Steelers.

The Steelers have shown an obvious desire to sign a veteran defensive back to help add experienced depth to their roster. Both Moore and Robinson are not necessarily viewed as top-tier free agents, but the Steelers have shown an ability to take lesser known players and turn them into capable contributors to the team under the guidance of defensive backs coach Carnell Lake.

Moore's ultimate decision could come down to finances, but if playing time is his goal, the Steelers could be the team to give him the best chance at seeing the field more often.
