Steve McLendon injury: Steelers nose tackle out of game with shoulder injury

Cam Thomas will shift over to play nose tackle, and Stephon Tuitt will handle the right defensive end position.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Steelers' run defense has been stout at times during their Week 6 game against the Cleveland Browns. They're giving up big passing plays left and right as the Browns are dominating the game 21-3 in the third quarter, but their run defense has done well.

That may be different now.

Facing the biggest first half deficit of the season, the Steelers lost nose tackle Steve McLendon for the game with an apparent shoulder injury. They're looking to overcome a significant deficit on the road, which will be tough enough on its own.

McLendon was replaced by Cam Thomas, who shifted over from defensive end. Rookie Stephon Tuitt appears to get his opportunity to shine, as he'll take over for Thomas.
