Ben Roethlisberger's historic passing performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8 did more than give the Pittsburgh Steelers another 'W' on their schedule. On top of being named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Roethlisberger was recently named the recipient of the FedEx Air Player of the Week award winner.
Roethlisberger threw for 522 yards and six touchdowns, while completing 40 of 49 passes attempted. The FedEx weekly awards are voted on by fans and Roethlisberger beat out Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, as well as New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, for the award.
This is the first time Roethlisberger has won this award in 2014, and the award doesn't just come with notoriety. On top of the award, the Pittsburgh-area Red Cross chapter will receive a $2,000 donation in Roethlisberger's name.
Mark Ingram of the New Orleans Saints was awarded the FedEx Ground Player of the week award with his 24 carry, 172 yard and one touchdown performance in the Saints' win over the Packers in Week 8.
