Steelers to wear 40th Anniversary patch in honor of Super Bowl IX victory in Week 13

Their first title was won in New Orleans, and they'll honor the 40th anniversary of that game by wearing a patch in their Week 13 game against the Saints.

This game started it all. Five more titles would come after the Steelers' 16-6 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IX.

The deposed Terry Bradshaw would storm back after a preseason benching to throw a touchdown pass in this game. Franco Harris's 158 yards would set a Super Bowl record and earn him the MVP of the game.

The Steelers will commemorate that Sunday in their Week 13 game against the New Orleans Saints by wearing a patch on their jerseys for the 40th anniversary of the game. The game was played in New Orleans, at Tulane Stadium, once the home of the Saints.

Pittsburgh sits a half-game behind the Cincinnati Bengals for first place in the AFC North. Their placement in the divison will depend on the Ravens' game against, incidentally, the Saints tonight.

Here are some highlights from Super Bowl IX.
