Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has broken Hines Ward's single-season receptions record, grabbing his 113th catch of the year and his eighth of the Steelers' Week 15 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
The catch came on a fourth-quarter drive, a 13-yard gainer on a quick-screen pass with 10 minutes left in the game.
Brown also eclipsed the 5,000-yard barrier during the game and his catch came in the third quarter of a game the Steelers didn't trail at all.
As of his record-breaking catch, Brown has 223 catches over the last 30 and one-half games. He's poised to break the team's reception yards record in this game as well, pushing his claim on the most prolific receiving season in franchise history.
Brown, a sixth-round draft pick out of Central Michigan in 2010, will most likely finish Week 15 leading the NFL in receptions and receiving yards, and he's well on pace to be named to the first-team All Pro squad for the first time in his career. He was named to the second-team last year.
