NFL Power Rankings, Week 17: Steelers jump to 7th after win over the Chiefs

New, comments

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to climb in the Power Rankings after winning their third consecutive game against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have punched their ticket to the postseason, and the only thing left on the table with a Week 17 game vs. the Cincinnati Bengals is the AFC North division crown and the No. 3 seed in the AFC Playoffs.

After their 20-12 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16, the Steelers jumped in the Week 17 SB Nation Power Rankings from 11th to 7th. Their 4 spot jump was one of the largest of the contending playoff teams, tied with the Bengals who sit behind the Steelers in the 12th spot.

The Steelers and their playoff scenarios have been simplified after the Bengals defeated the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football in Week 16. If the Steelers win the game, they would claim the 3rd seed and will host a playoff game at Heinz Field. If they lose the game, they will be the 5th seed and will be on the road for the remainder of their season.

Still plenty to play for, but as the Steelers have slowly gained confidence of the Power Ranking voters, their ability to win big games at home when it matters the most will be something to watch as the 2014 regular season comes to a close.
