While the news of Julio Jones' injury may tilt this line a bit as the week progresses, the Steelers are favored by 1.5 points over (snicker) NFC South-leading Atlanta heading into Week 15.
The 5-8 Falcons' comeback bid against the host Green Bay Packers fell short on Monday night and, in the process, they lost Jones to a hip injury. Jones has exploded during the team's last two games, having caught 21 passes for 458 yards. Losing him would be a critical blow to the Falcons' push for a division title.
It's a critical game for the Steelers as well, and the 1.5-point advantage on the road suggests betters feel they're the stronger team. Being favored has been tough for the Steelers to handle this season. Sitting at 8-5, they're just 6-7 against the spread this season.
A win for the Steelers would keep them as a solid contender for the AFC North title or a wild card. They're currently a half-game behind the Cincinnati Bengals, the team they beat in Week 14, and in possession of the fifth seed in the competitive AFC playoff field.
