The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Chris Rainey from the University of Florida in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and he spent one season with the team before being released for off field issues.
He was picked up towards the end of the 2013 season by the Indianapolis Colts, but his time spent in Indianpolis was short lived. Rainey was waived today for alleged behavioral issues, again.
Rainey is no stranger to off the field issues that can plague a career, and lead to his demise in both NFL cities.
For Pittsburgh, Rainey carried the ball 26 times for 102 yards in his rookie season, and played in only a handful of games as a return man for the Colts in 2013. Rainey was expected to vie for legitimate playing time in 2014 for the Colts, especially with the injury to running back Vick Ballard.
Rainey again finds himself unemployed, and the odds of him finding a new home in the NFL now are diminishing with every incident.
