Antonio Brown injury: Steelers receiver returns to the field after head injury

Update: Brown has returned to the game in the second quarter.

Update: Brown has returned to the game in the second quarter.

Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown took a shot to the head from the shoulder of Ravens safety Matt Elam in the first quarter of the Steelers at Ravens game Thursday. Brown left to the locker room after the play (a completion and 3rd-and-9 conversion), and his return is questionable.

The hit wasn't flagged, remarkably, but will draw a fine from the league.

The Steelers continued to move a bit on the drive, but a Justin Brown fumble gave the Ravens the ball, and they proceeded to score on their first possession.

Baltimore took a 7-0 lead into the second quarter, with the Steelers slogging as poorly defensively as they did against Cleveland. Adding insult to injury, Brown was fined $8,200 for his jump-kick into the head of Browns punter Spencer Lanning in their win last week.

It was about as lackluster a start as the Steelers could have had, and playing in an environment like Baltimore, the hole is even deeper - especially without Brown.
