Super Bowl 49 Picks: Who the experts are taking in Patriots vs. Seahawks

Super Bowl 49 has the looks of an instant classic on paper as two formidable teams in the Patriots and Seahawks face off for all the marbles. See who the experts are taking in this grudge match.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

If the NFL was looking for a star-studded matchup for Super Bowl 49, they got it. When the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots face off on Super Bowl Sunday, some of the elite players in the league will be going head-to-head in the biggest sporting event in the United States.

Russell Wilson, Marshawn Lynch and Richard Sherman and the Legion of Boom will go against Rob Gronkowski, Tom Brady and Darrelle Revis for the right to be crowned the champions of the football world.

Will Brady and Belichick end their Super Bowl losing steak at two games and win their fourth Lombardi, or will Wilson and Carroll win back-to-back championships, becoming the first to do so since the Patriots did it in '04 and '05?

With the betting spread only 1.5 points in the Patriots' favor, you'd expect the experts to be split fairly evenly between the teams with their picks.

But that's not the case.

The expert panel at ESPN.com favors the Patriots, 13-4.The folks at CBSSports.com are going 5-3 for the Pats.

Here at SB Nation it looks like it might have to go to overtime to decide, because it's a 3-3 tie.The 50-50 split seems to be where most sites are leaning heading into the big weekend. At NFLPickWatch.com, a website which analyzes all expert picks across the Internet, they see the Patriots being selected 51-percent of the time.
