Pittsburgh Steelers place Kelvin Beachum on IR, sign OT Byron Stingily

The Pittsburgh Steelers have found a swing tackle to fill in for the remainder of the season with Kelvin Beachum being placed on injured reserve.

The Pittsburgh Steelers placed Kelvin Beachum on injured reserve Monday, and they filled his void on the roster with offensive tackle Byron Stingily.

Stingily played for Steelers' offensive line coach Mike Munchak when he was with the Tennessee Titans, and will likely fill the team's void of reserve offensive tackle for the immediate future.

With Beachum lost for the season, the team's swing backup tackle Alejandro Villanueva will be the team's starting offensive tackle heading into the team's Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs and beyond.

Beachum was lost for the season when he had a player thrown into his knee, causing him to experience a tear in his ACL. Compounding the injury is the fact Beachum is in the final year of his rookie contract, making him a free agent after the season. With his knee injury going to require surgery and several months of rehabilitation, his future may or may not be with Pittsburgh, but it certainly won't be for as much money as he had hoped entering this season.

The Steelers travel to Arrowhead Stadium Sunday in Week 7 for a 1:00 p.m. EDT kickoff.
