The Pittsburgh Steelers seem prepared to give some placekickers the chance to take Josh Scobee's job as the kicker for the black and gold. Reports earlier Friday were former Washington Redskins kicker Kai Forbath received a tryout with the team today.
Now reports are surfacing Chris Boswell will get his chance at splitting the uprights Saturday for the Steelers.
The Steelers will try out kicker Chris Boswell tomorrow according to a source. Josh Scobee is just 3 for 7 on FGs from 40 to 49 yards.

Boswell is out of Rice who spent his rookie season showing his versatility with the Houston Texans as he performed punting duties for part of his rookie 2014 season. In 2015, he spent the preseason with the New York Giants before being released. Boswell's college statistics are far from amazing. In his first year with Rice, Boswell had a 64.7 kicking percentage, in his sophomore season he kicked his highest 81.0 percentage, 79.3 as a junior and 66.3 in his senior campaign.
If in fact the Steelers are preparing to cut ties with Scobee, it will be quite the investment thrown away as the team will owe Scobee $2.5 million dollars for his services, or lack thereof, in 2015.
There will likely be other kickers names released who might be getting a tryout with the Steelers as the team has an extended break before their Monday Night Football game against the San Diego Chargers in Week 5.
