The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't play in Week 11. They were enjoying their bye week while the other NFL teams went to work, but through good fortune Pittsburgh's No. 5 spot in the AFC Playoff Picture wasn't just secured, but a one-game cushion was created. The week was capped off by the Buffalo Bills loss to the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football, the loss giving the Steelers a comfortable one-game cushion in the playoff race.

Take a look at the AFC Playoff Picture heading into Week 12:

1. New England Patriots (10-0) - BYE
2. Cincinnati Bengals (8-2) - BYE

3. Denver Broncos (8-2)
6. Kansas City Chiefs (5-5)

4. Indianapolis Colts (5-5)
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4)

In the hunt:

7. Houston Texans (5-5)
8. Buffalo Bills (5-5)
9. New York Jets (5-5)
10. Oakland Raiders (4-6)
11. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6)
12. Miami Dolphins (4-6)

With the Steelers 6-4 record, it has them a full game ahead of the 5-5 Chiefs, as well as the rest of the 5-5 pack which consists of the Texans, Bills and Jets.

Week 11 saw the Jets, Bills, Raiders and Dolphins all lose in their respective games, thinning out the competition within the conference playoff race. With six games remaining anything can happen in the playoff picture, but if one thing is certain, the Steelers control their own destiny in terms of their playoff destiny.

For fans, they aren't sold on the thought of the Steelers possibly catching the Bengals for the AFC North title, but most would agree just making it to the postseason for a second consecutive year is goal No. 1.
