The Pittsburgh Steelers have won back-to-back games against the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals to keep their hopes of an AFC Playoff berth alive and well, and due to those victories they continue their ascent up the latest SB Nation Power Rankings heading into Week 15.
Last week the Steelers were ranked 8th in the league, and have moved up another rung to the 7th spot in the Power Rankings. The Steelers have been a Top 10 team for the majority of the 2015 season, and will have to remain a strong team if they want to run the table in their final three games and make the postseason.
See what Danny Kelly of SB Nation had to say about the Steelers after their Week 14 performance:
The Steelers took advantage of Dalton's injury in Cincy on Sunday, grabbing a key win to keep pace with the Jets and Chiefs in the wild card race. Ben Roethlisberger couldn't find the end zone against the Bengals' tough secondary, but Pittsburgh's defense carried the day by picking off Dalton and McCarron a combined three times -- the key turnovers in the game. They'll have another big test this week as they host the Broncos.
Although the Steelers have been a Top 10 team for nearly the entire regular season, one thing they haven't been able to accomplish in 2015 is the top ranked team in the AFC North -- until now. The Steelers possessing the 7th spot in the rankings is one notch better than the Cincinnati Bengals at 8th. The Bengals steep drop has a lot to do with the injury to Andy Dalton and the question surrounding the team, quarterbacked by AJ McCarron, moving forward.
The other representatives of the AFC North are the Baltimore Ravens in the 29th spot, for the second straight week, and the Cleveland Browns at 30th, a climb up two spots due to Johnny Manziel leading the team to victory over the San Francisco 49ers Sunday.
