Report: Vontaze Burfict was fined for his low hit on Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger

Despite earlier reports of Burfict not being fined for his low hit on BenRoethlisberger, his agent is saying he was indeed fined and is appealing.

Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers have been up in arms over the fact Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was not fined for a very questionable low hit on quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the team's Week 14 game at Paul Brown Stadium. Fans will be able to rest easier tonight as Burfict's agent tells multiple sources he was fined for the hit.

Despite being fined, Burfict is planning on appealing the fine to get his money back, but whether he will win the appeal is anyone's guess.

What isn't left up to question is the ridiculous number of Steelers who have been fined throughout the course of the 2015 season. Stephon Tuitt, DeAngelo Williams, William Gay and Cameron Heyward were all fined for uniform violations. Chris Boswell and Arthur Moats were fined for facemask penalties, and Antonio Brown has been fined in back-to-back weeks, one for a TD celebration and another for fighting in the team's win over the Bengals.

This is far from over, in terms of the fines, but there is a strong chance these two teams will lock horns for a third time. If that happens, you will want to get your popcorn ready.

UPDATE: Per Adam Schefter, Burfict was actually fined three times in the game against the Steelers. One for the low hit on Roethlisberger and twice for unnecessary roughness plays.
