A slide in the latest SB Nation Power Rankings was inevitable. After all, when you drop a game most would consider winnable and have your record flirt dangerously with the .500 mark, you won't be climbing the Power Rankings aftter such a performance.
In this week's rankings, the Steelers surprisingly remained in the Top 10, barely, with the No. 9 spot among the league of 32. See what was said about the Steelers and their ranking:
The Steelers drop slightly as well with a loss in Seattle. Big Ben threw for 456 yards but could only find the end zone one time. Giving the ball to Seattle four times really hurt their chances of winning this game, and the defense showed some major signs of vulnerability. They'll look to bounce back this week against the Colts.
That bounce back game against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday Night Football seems as far away as a sure thing as imaginable, and that is without Andrew Luck under center. Even with Matt Hasselbeck leading the way, the Steelers defense, primarily the pass defense, has been shredded by the likes of Derek Carr, Johnny Manziel and most recently Russell Wilson. Will Hasselbeck write his name next on this list? Only time will tell.
As for the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals remain the cream of the crop in the No 4 position, and the Baltimore Ravens climbed a few spots to No. 28. Don't worry, the Cleveland Browns remain not only in the bottom of the AFC North, but in the basement of the Power Rankings in the 32nd position.
There are 5 games remaining, and a lot can happen in such a short amount of time. Will the Steelers "unleash hell" in the month of December, or will they fade into mediocrity? The fate of the team could very well be decided by Monday morning.
