Steelers Injury Report: Antwon Blake latest player added to Pittsburgh injury report

The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't just lose the game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16, they now have 3 players on their injury report heading into Week 17.

The Pittsburgh Steelers did more than lose to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16, they had several players lost to injury throughout the game as well. Following the game, Mike Tomlin addressed the media and broke down the team's injury situation heading into the team's Week 17 game against the Cleveland Browns.

The most notable injury would be to safety Mike Mitchell. Mitchell left the game with a shoulder injury, but returned to the field after missing a handful of plays. The shoulder injury to Mitchell certainly seems to be an injury which will last the duration of the season, however long that may be. Mitchell has shown the ability to play through the pain, and that may continue into Week 17.

Fullback and special teams ace Roosevelt Nix left the game with a foot injury Tomlin labeled as a "5th metatarsal" injury. Any injury to the foot can be a multiple game injury, and Nix could find himself missing the season finale due to the injury.

Lastly, cornerback Antwon Blake left the game due to back spasms, and Tomlin stated he would be monitored moving forward. The loss of Blake was mostly thought to be addition through subtraction due to his inconsistencies at the cornerback position. Blake's availability for Week 17 will ultimately be dependent on his practice participation this week.

The Steelers now need to win in Week 17 and get help from other teams. Both scenarios for the Steelers to make the postseason can be found HERE.
