Pittsburgh Steelers odds to win Super Bowl 50 improve after free agency

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't been major players throughout free agency, but they have improved their odds of winning Super Bowl 50 according to the Bovada sports book in Las Vegas.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been rather stagnant throughout free agency, but even without any big time additions, the Bovada online sports book in Las Vegas has improved the Steelers' odds of winning Super Bowl 50 from their released odds in February.

The only moves the Steelers have made in the offseason are releasing a couple veteran players, signing RB DeAngelo Williams and most importantly extended Ben Roethlisberger's contract for another 5 seasons. In February, the Bovada had the Steelers at 25/1 odds to win Super Bowl 50, but recent odds have the team at 20/1 odds to hoist the Lombardi trophy in 2015.

How do the Steelers stack up against the NFL's elite? The Seattle Seahawks at 6/1 odds and best in the NFL, followed by the Green Bay Packers at 7/1, New England Patriots at 7/1, Indianapolis Colts 8/1, Denver Broncos 12/1, Dallas Cowboys 14/1 and the Philadelphia Eagles 18/1.

The Steelers had the best odds among the 4 AFC North teams. Their 20/1 odds were the best followed by the Baltimore Ravens at 25/1, the Cincinnati Bengals 33/1 and the Cleveland Browns at 75/1.

The Steelers at 20/1 would be a pretty nice payout if the team is able to fix some issues on defense and make a run which actually includes a playoff win in 2015. If you are a gambling man, or woman, and want to take some serious odds, look no further than the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars who both sit at 200/1 odds to win Super Bowl 50.
