NFL fans are crazed animals when it comes to getting what they want, and somehow the league continues to dangle certain aspects of the offseason over the heads of their fans. The league doesn't have an official date for the release of their preseason schedule, and the same can be said about the regular season schedule.
The preseason schedule was released last week, and the league gave a smaller window for the regular season schedule to be released. A recent report from Pro Football Talk said the league is looking at Thursday April 23rd as the official release date for the schedule.
Some might read this and think, "Who cares?!", but for Pittsburgh Steelers fans, they most certainly should care. First and foremost, the team and fanbase will get the opportunity to see which games superstar running back Le'Veon Bell will miss due to a three-game suspension dating back to his DUI arrest last August.
On top of which games Bell will miss, the team will get to see the sequence of games which have been dubbed the most difficult schedule in the NFL according to the opponents' 2014 winning percentage. Lastly, it is always interesting to see how many prime time games the team is granted, as the Steelers continue to be a team which draws a large television audience due to it's global fanbase.
So, keep your eyes open for a April 23rd release of the new schedule and be prepared to mark your calendars accordingly for your annual trip to the mecca which is Heinz Field.
