— Antwon V. Blake (@ZillaMane41) April 3, 2015
Before free agency officially began in early March, the Pittsburgh Steelers extended one-year tenders to three restricted free agents on their roster. Antwon Blake, Robert Golden and Will Johnson all received tenders, and Blake took to Twitter to post a photo of him signing his tender to remain with the Steelers for 2015.
Blake entered the 2014 season as a special teams ace, but due to an injury to Ike Taylor and poor play by Cortez Allen, Blake spent time as a nickel cornerback and on occasion a starting cornerback on the outside.
Although small for a starting cornerback by NFL standards, Blake held his own in 2014 against big name receivers like A.J. Green and Torrey Smith. His performance was a large part of the organization offering him the tender, and as evident in the picture above, Blake will be staying in Pittsburgh for at least another season.
