The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering their second day of minicamp, but as you can see, transactions take place regardless of which part of the offseason you happen to be in at that time. Wednesday the Steelers placed offensive tackle Micah Hatchie on the waived/injured list and signed center / guard Collin Rahrig to their 90-man offseason roster.
Neither moves are Earth-shattering, but often times a player's dream of playing football at the NFL level can be derailed by injury, and it looks as if that might have been the case with Hatchie's release.
Rahrig is a versatile offensive lineman who played his college football at the University of Indiana. Rahrig will be competing with B.J. Finney to try and make the first wave of cuts to 75 players, and possibly the 53-man roster. His versatility is something Mike Tomlin likes along his offensive line, so his position flexibility is a strength as he enters the organization mid-way through mandatory minicamp.
