Pittsburgh Steelers News: Day 6 OTAs recap

New, comments

The Steelers ended their second week of Organized Team Activities, which means we are one week closer to real football starting. See everything that went down on Day 6 of OTAs in our daily recap.

Another day, another Organized team Activities (OTAs) session in the books. With another Thursday session down, it marks another week of offseason workouts down the drain. One step closer to the football which matters, and one step closer to the dog days of summer. Take a look at what went down on the 6th day of OTAs for the Steelers so you don't miss a beat with the 2015 Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sometimes punches are thrown

Whenever you have the alpha male egos of NFL athletes going head-to-head, you will have moments of anger and frustration - even in shorts. This is what happened Thursday when guard Ramon Foster and outside linebacker Shayon Greene exchanged punches during a drill. Chalk this up to 'one of those things' which happens when you have an experienced veteran who takes exception to someone trying to make the roster trying a bit too hard in practice. Similar situation occurred during the 2014 season when Clifton Geathers arrived with the team.

No Gold Star for you Steelers, again!

The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't have perfect attendance at Thursday's OTAs. For the second day in a row James Harrison and Ryan Shazier missed the team's voluntary workout. For those who follow Harrison on Instagram noticed Harrison spent the day with his children at school, while the whereabouts of Shazier weren't known, but likely excused.

VIDEO: Pass break up drill

Some might be bored to death with how boring some of the activities done during these OTAs are. Don't believe me? Take a look at the video above where you see inside linebackers coach Jerry Olsavsky working with his inside linebackers with the jugs machine and breaking up passes. As boring as it may seem, doesn't make it any less important.

Even kickers need practice what long snapper Greg Warren was trying to do at the end of the video is up for interpretation.

Landry Jones...ugh

Steelers fans haven't been fond of Landry Jones since being drafted, and it likely won't change any time soon. Look on the bright side, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review's Mark Kaboly's thought of the day speaks volumes about what to expect from Jones in 2015.
