News broke Thursday of Pittsburgh Steelers WR Martavis Bryant's impending four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, and after the team's 43-19 loss to the Buffalo Bills the second year wide receiver spoke to the media about the suspension.
After a huge day on the field, 3 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown, Bryant wasn't fielding questions about the Bills' defense, what worked and what didn't or even about catching passes from Michael Vick. No, the questions were surrounding the suspension for his role in violating the substance abuse policy. The same policy which states a player could test positive for marijuana use up to 4 times before receiving a 4-game suspension.
When Bryant was asked after the game if he knew the suspension was coming, his answer was rather candid and surprising, "Honestly, no. I don't really know what's going to happen, so at the appropriate time I would talk about it, but right now I don't know."

So there seems to be something going on in what seems to be a cut-and-dry suspension for the second year wide receiver. Although speculation of the cause of Bryant's suspension is from marijuana use, no public statement has been made by the league office on many fronts.
As Mike Tomlin spoke to the media following the game, when he was asked about the suspension to Bryant, he too added some interesting remarks surrounding the impending ban on Bryant.
Tomlin on Martavis: "There are still a lot of those elements still unresolved. I will address it when we get a totality of it."

Those words certainly make one wonder what might be going on behind closed doors which the public simply doesn't know about. Could Bryant's appeal actually have legs when it was originally thought he didn't have a leg to stand on?
Everything from this point would be pure speculation, but when the head coach and the player himself seem not only surprised by the sanctions, but as if to think this situation is far from over, fans might want to keep tabs on the way this suspension plays out.
