The Steelers were forced to release a player upon Le'Veon Bell's return from suspension heading into the Week 3 matchup against the St. Louis Rams. When Murphy was released it was expected he would be re-signed, but had to clear waivers before the team could officially bring him back.
The Steelers will be in the same situation in 2 weeks when Martavis Bryant returns from suspension and the team will have to release a player to get their roster to the league mandated 53 players.
The Steelers (1-1) will travel to the Edward Jones Dome Sunday to play the Rams (1-1) for a 1:00 p.m. EDT kickoff.
