The Pittsburgh Steelers are riding a wave of momentum into the AFC Playoffs, and will face the Cincinnati Bengals in the Wild Card round on Saturday night at 8:20 p.m. There are no secrets between these two AFC North rivals, and the two teams split the regular season series by winning both games on the road.
These two teams are very different, and dealing with significant injuries, from even their last meeting. The Steelers could be without starting running back DeAngelo Williams due to an injured right ankle, and there is a good chance the Bengals will be without Andy Dalton as the quarterback is still dealing with a fractured thumb on his throwing hand.
With that said, what are the early odds in this AFC North playoff game? The opening line has the Steelers as 1-point favorites, but depending on which sports book you check, some have the spread as high as 2.5-points, in favor of the visiting Steelers.
The Steelers high flying offense will be tested against the Bengals' stout defense, and in this game it will be for the ultimate bragging rights. Winner stays in the tournament, loser goes home. There is a lot of bad blood between these two teams, and their last meeting saw both teams heavily fined for altercations before and during the game.
Regardless of previous matchups and playoff history, the odds makers see this game being close, but are certainly giving the nod to the Steelers on the road to advance to the Divisional Round of the AFC Playoffs.
