NFL Power Rankings Week 6: Pittsburgh Steelers remain one of the top teams in the league

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 4-1, and their rankings in the weekly NFL Power Rankings validates them as one of the NFL's best teams.

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 4-1, and only one team -- the 5-0 Minnesota Vikings -- has a better record than the black and gold. After defeating the New York Jets in Week 5 of the 2016 regular season, the Steelers have found their way after the Week 3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but don't think that loss still isn't embedded in people's brains.

This is the perfect time to discuss the weekly Power Rankings which are released after every week of NFL play. Where do the experts, and main media outlets, see the Steelers ranked among all 32 NFL franchises? Realizing Power Rankings are only some people's opinions, it is always good fodder for discussion and debate. Take a look at the Power Rankings below, and where the Steelers rank.

"Not getting too high on the Steelers quite yet. Even their most ardent fans will tell you they have a maddening habit of dropping games to way lesser teams -- like the Dolphins this coming weekend? -- in the Mike Tomlin era. No bumblin' and stumblin' for the Steelers this past Sunday, though. Sammie Coates caught the home run ball, and dropped the easy 1-yarder. Tight end Jesse James picked him up, though, with a touchdown grab on the very next play, setting off chants of "Heeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaathhhhh" from some in the stadium. (Never mind that former Steelers tight end Heath Miller has been retired for eight months.) Notice who we're talking about here: Coates and James. These guys, RT Chris Hubbard, and other spare parts contributed in a big way. The Jets came out with a game plan to stop No. 26 and A.B. -- only to get beat by everybody else."

"At 4-1, Mike Tomlin's Steelers seem poised for another 10-win season, and a game against the struggling Dolphins could net them win No. 5. If the Steelers do get to 10 wins, it will be the first time they have won 10 in three straight seasons since 1994-97."

"Aside from a bizarre and embarrassing loss to the Eagles, the Steelers have been nearly unstoppable. Now that Le'Veon Bell is back in the fold and Sammie Coates is a significant deep threat, the offense is only going to get better as the year goes on - and that should scare every team in their path."
