Steelers Injury Report: Some good news out of Wednesday's practice despite another injury added

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven't had too much good news on the injury front, but they did after Wednesday's practice despite another playing suffering an injury.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers injury report has resembled a child's wish list more than it has an actual NFL injury report. By the week, the list keeps getting longer and longer. The rash of injuries, which has temporarily tested the team's depth, began after the Week 3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, but was only made worse after the Week 4 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The biggest concern currently is the right tackle position. Marcus Gilbert was lost to an ankle/foot injury, and doesn't look as if he will be able to play in the Week 5 game against the New York Jets. Typically, Ryan Harris would back up Gilbert, but he suffered a pretty bad hematoma on his leg, which makes his availability on Sunday a question mark.

In this case, the Steelers could put Chris Hubbard at tackle, and they have even been practicing Maurkice Pouncey, but either way the team would be in dire straits at the tackle position.

However, after Wednesday's practice, not all news was bad -- despite newly acquired cornerback Justin Gilbert leaving practice early with a knee injury -- as the team got Ramon Foster (chest) back as a full participant in practice, Anthony Chickillo (knee), Darrius Heyward-Bey (shoulder), Roosevelt Nix (back) and rookie Sean Davis (back) were all full participants.

Yes, believe it or not, but the Steelers might actually be getting healthy with some of these players who have missed time the past few weeks.
