The Pittsburgh Steelers have suffered several tough injuries this season, and the hits just keep coming. Tuesday Mike Tomlin updated the team’s injury news at his weekly press conference, and the news was anything but positive.
The biggest name on the injury report was Cameron Heyward. Heyward suffered an injury to his pectoralis muscle, but Mike Tomlin said the injury is being re-evaluated and his status for the game Sunday is unknown.
UPDATE: Heyward took to Instagram to announce his 2016 season is over, and he won’t be returning this year.
Other injuries mentioned by Tomlin were:
Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) will be out this week. Steven Johnson (ankle) was placed on injured reserve and the team re-signed L.J. Fort to fill his spot on the roster.
Markus Wheaton (shoulder) is having his injury re-evaluated to see if he will be able to return this season. DeAngelo Williams (knee) and Jordan Dangerfield (groin) continu to work their way back, and Shamarko Thomas (groin) re-injured his other groin during the game Sunday.
The Pittsburgh Steelers now prepare for the winless Cleveland Browns in Week 11. While most fans think this should be an easy win for the black and gold, the 2016 Steelers have been so inconsistent you truly don’t know what to expect on any given Sunday when they step on the field.
Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest injury news as the team attempts to end their 4-game losing streak in Week 11.
