The Pittsburgh Steelers made several roster moves prior to their Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns.

It was only a matter of time the Pittsburgh Steelers placed a name, or two, on injured reserve, and the time has finally come. Everyone was waiting for the team to officially end Cameron Heyward’s season, but the news of Markus Wheaton being placed on injured reserve certainly was a surprise.

Wheaton, who has been dealing with a reoccurring shoulder injury the entire 2016 season, had his shoulder re-evaluated, and it clearly wasn’t good news for the wide receiver. What hurts even worse, is the fact Wheaton was in the final year of his rookie contract, and hoping to perform this season to cash in on a big pay day next season as a free agent.

With Heyward and Wheaton’s seasons officially over, the team officially promoted Bud Dupree, who was on the injured reserve list to start the season after undergoing sports hernia surgery, to the active 53-man roster. They also promoted running back Daryl Richardson from the practice squad to the active roster.

What might come as a shock to many is the Steelers choosing to promote Richardson over Karlos Williams, brother of inside linebacker Vince Williams.
