The AFC North race has been a two horse race for several weeks now, but it became official after Week 15 when the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers winning eliminated the Cincinnati Bengals from the division race, and out of the playoff picture.
With the Steelers and Ravens set to go head-to-head in Week 16, you can say this game is for all the marbles, but that might not be selling just how important this game is. The Steelers hold a one-game lead over the Ravens, and a Pittsburgh win would clinch the division and a playoff berth. However, a Baltimore win would mean the division would come down to Week 17.
Regardless, the Steelers find themselves in the driver seat by beating their arch rivals on Sunday at Heinz Field.
Time to take a look at how the division did in Week 15.
Baltimore Ravens - 27
Philadelphia Eagles - 26
This back-and-forth affair came down to the wire, and the Eagles could have kicked an extra point to tie the game and send it to overtime, instead Philadelphia elected to go for the win with a two-point conversion. You didn’t expect Philly to do Pittsburgh any favors, did you?
The Bills come back from their Week 14 loss with the magic elixir...the Browns. The question now remains, will the Browns win a game? The San Diego Chargers and Steelers are the only teams left for them to avoid the 0-16 season.
Pittsburgh Steelers - 24
Cincinnati Bengals - 20
The Steelers were down 20-6 at one point, and just when you thought all was lost, Ben Roethlisberger and Le’Veon Bell, along with a stout defensive second half effort, were able to claw their way back to victory. The win was the Steelers’ 5th win in a row, and has them just a game away from winning their second division title in 3 seasons.
AFC North Standing (Week 15)
Pittsburgh Steelers - 9-5
Baltimore Ravens - 8-6
Cincinnati Bengals - 5-8-1
Cleveland Browns - 0-14
