Steelers open as home favorites in the Week 15 game against the Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers are pretty good at Heinz Field, and could be why they opened as favorites to win at home.

The Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road are nearly night and day differences. The same can be said about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger has struggled on the road, and has yet to throw for 300 yards on the road since his Week 1 performance against the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field.

The Steelers have won four straight road games, but it is undeniable how they are a much better team at Heinz Field. This may be a large reason why the Steelers are home favorites against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16.

Being the home team, Las Vegas usually gives you a 2.5 - 3.0 point advantage in the betting line. With the 9-5 Steelers hosting the 8-6 Ravens, this game should be close, as so many of these historic battles have been.

According to BookMaker, the opening line for this huge AFC North battle opened with the Steelers as 4-point favorites; however, as of Tuesday night the line had moved to the Ravens getting 4.5-points. So, if you take the 3-point home field advantage away from the line, it is rather close.

The question now remains, can the Steelers not just hold serve at home, but can they cover the current spread? Games between these two hated rivals usually come down to the wire, and are rarely decided by more than a touchdown.

Therefore, if you like the Steelers to not only win in Week 16, but to cover the spread, you might want to get to the window as soon as possible, considering it is trending in the wrong direction for Steelers’ fans. Time will tell just what will happen to the black and gold, but Las Vegas is certainly giving them the nod by way of the betting line.
