With so much negative news coming out of the NFL, it is nice to see a positive story. Brett Keisel, though retired from the Steelers, continued his "Shear da Beard" fundraiser to benefit Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh at UPMC. This year, even Ben Roethlisberger participated in the event, helping shear Keisel's beard. James Harrison attended the event as well. Retired quarterback Charlie Batch took a break from his foundation, snow removal, and work with sports medicine technology start-up Impellia to support the cause.
Tickets to the event, held at Jergel's Rhythm Grill, cost $50. All off the proceeds go to cancer programs at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Last year the event raised $67,000 for Children's.
