Early odds on the Pittsburgh Steelers Week 1 game against the Washington Redskins

The 2016 NFL schedule was just released, and so were the odds on the Week 1 games.

The 2016 NFL Schedule was released Thursday night, and despite not even being 24 hours old, Las Vegas has already put its stamp on the Week 1 games, in the form of early odds.

The odds for Super Bowl 51 have long been released, and the Pittsburgh Steelers are among four teams who Vegas considers the front runners to hoist the Lombardi trophy next year. However, there is far less certainty about the team traveling to Washington for a prime time game to open the season against the Redskins.

Per the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, the Steelers are 2.5-point favorites to leave our nation's capital with a 1-0 record.

Considering the direction of both of these teams, it is a surprise the Steelers aren't favored by at least a field goal, but with the NFL Draft still upcoming, as well as further free agency transactions, a lot can change between now and that first of two Monday night games on September 12th.

Both teams are coming off 2015 playoff berths. The Redskins won the NFC East division in 2015 with a 9-7 record, and the Steelers finished 10-6 and were able to grab a Wild Card spot in the AFC Playoff picture. While the Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals in that round to advance to the Divisional round, the Redskins were defeated at FedEx Field by the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round.

Kirk Cousins vs. Ben Roethlisberger. Should be fun, and if you are a gambler, I'd be sprinting to the window to put some money on the black and gold to cover.
