Throughout the preseason, injuries usually equate to players being in risk of losing their jobs. If you suffer an injury which will have you out for even a couple weeks, especially for those players who are used strictly as "camp bodies", you will unfortunately find yourself unemployed.
This happened recently as the Pittsburgh Steelers released three players, and added three, to round out their 90-man preseason roster.
See what transactions were made:
We have signed OT Wade Hansen, DT Khaynin Mosley-Smith and CB Julian Whigham.

To make room on the roster, we have Waived/Injured OT Brian Mihalik & DT Roy Philon, and placed S Ross Ventrone on the Reserve/Injured List.

The Steelers will carry 90 players on their roster until they have to trim the lineup to 75, and eventually to their final 53-man roster. Needless to say, there are a lot of changes which will still take place until the team manages their roster down to 53.
The Steelers have almost completed their yearly training camp at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. With practice being rained out for the public, they will have two more open practices before they close camp and head back to Pittsburgh for the remainder of the 2016 season.
