The Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly added a cornerback to their depth chart in the form of former 1st round draft pick Justin Gilbert of the Cleveland Browns, this from ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Browns trading former first-round CB Justin Gilbert to the Pittsburgh Steelers, per league source. Rare in-division trade.

Gilbert, who the Steelers showed interest in coming out of college, has never lived up to the billing of a first round draft pick. He suffered several injuries throughout his stint with the Browns, but what might have been more troubling were reports his passion for the game, or lack thereof, is what ultimately kept him off the field.
It is possible the team he played for had something to do with his lack of fire, but he will help add another defensive back to a Steelers secondary which severely needs it. With Senquez Golson headed to the injured reserve list, it leaves rookie Sean Davis as their third best cornerback to play the slot. Not a very good situation heading into a season where the pass defense could make, or break, the season.
The details of the trade have not be released yet, but this would mark the second consecutive season the Steelers were forced to add a cornerback via trade prior to the season, both surrounding an injury to Golson.
Stay tuned for more details as they come to fruition.
