The Pittsburgh Steelers have named their 2016 team captains, and they might look similar to the 2015 captains. The team selected Ben Roethlisberger as the lone offensive captain, Cameron Heyward and William Gay as the defensive captains and Robert Golden as the special teams captain.

The Steelers will rely heavily on their respective captains to not just perform the ceremonial coin toss, but to help the young players within their units to get acclimated and be the best they can be at their respective position.
The Steelers will travel to play the Washington Redskins in Week 1 when they are the first of a double header on prime time on Monday Night Football.
