The same day Mike Tomlin spoke to the media at his Tuesday press conference about his star wide receiver’s locker room antics after the Pittsburgh Steelers Divisional round win, Antonio Brown apologized for his actions via social media.
See the apology below:
The apology was right on time for several reasons.
First, it is used hopefully to put the matter to bed and not serve as a distraction for the team as they prepare for the New England Patriots. Second, it is likely a response to Tomlin’s stern message sent to Brown and his overall displeasure over his actions. Lastly, Brown has to try and keep the organization which pays him millions of dollars to catch footballs for a living happy.
In the apology, Brown states his emotions and excitement after the win got the best of him, and he did state he apologized both to Mike Tomlin and his teammates. He attached some wise words from Yehuda Berg regarding owning your life and the decisions you make.
Brown seems to have owned up to the mistake he made after the win over the Chiefs, and is hoping to move forward, as the team prepares for the Patriots and a chance to play in Super Bowl 51.
