March 4 NFL Regional Combines, Minnesota Vikings Practice Facility, Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
March 11 — NFL Regional Combines, New Orleans Saints Training Facility, Metairie, Louisiana.
February 14 From 12 p.m E.T, Steelers may sign players whose 2016 CFL contracts have expired.
February 15 First day Steelers can designate franchise or transition tags on eligible players.
March 1 Deadline for Steelers to designate franchise or transition tags on eligible players before 4 p.m E.T.
March 7-9 Steelers may enter into contract negotiations with agents of players who will become unrestricted free agents on March 9 at 4 p.m E.T. A time also known as the legal tampering period. A contract cannot be announced until the start of the new NFL year.
March 9 Steelers must submit qualifying offers to all their restricted free agents and exclusive-rights free agents they wish to keep before 4 p.m E.T when all 2016 contracts expire and the NFL free agency period begins.
March 9 Steelers must be under the salary cap as it relates to their top 51 players under contract before 4 p.m E.T and the official start of the 2017 league year.
April 21 Deadline for Steelers RFA’s to sign tenders.
