So many people get infatuated with the 53-man regular season roster, and rightfullyl so, but when the offseason comes the roster balloons up to 90 players. Teams sign players to futures contract, giving the player a chance to prove themselves in the offseason workouts every season.
The Steelers have signed several of their own free agents already this season, Roosevelt Nix, Cobi Hamilton and Jordan Dangerfield, but they have now gone outside the organization to add a player.
The team announced they have signed cornerback Greg Ducre.
Steelers sign CB Greg Ducre to futures deal. He's played for the Redskins, the Chargers and the BC Lions (CFL) in that order

As reported by Jacob Klinger of PennLive.com, Ducre spent time with the Washington Redskins, San Diego Chargers and even the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.
Ducre will have an uphill battle to find a spot on the team. He will be competing with players like Al-Hajj Shabazz and Justin Gilbert just to find a spot during training camp. Nonetheless, he has a shot, and although the odds may be against him, you never know what is going to happen in the NFL.
Stay tuned to BTSC for the latest news and notes coming from the team this offseason.
