The Pittsburgh Steelers know all too well about Tyler Eifert. The former Notre Dame product has been a thorn in the team’s side as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals organization. However, Eifert won’t be seeing the Steelers in 2017 as he has decided to undergo season-ending back surgery.
Bengals TE Tyler Eifert scheduled to undergo back surgery Thursday and is expected to be out 4-6 months, per source. Free agent in winter.

As reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Eifert decided to go under the knife to repair a back injury, and likely to help ensure he is 100-percent healthy prior to the 2018 season, where he is set to hit free agency.
Eifert has been injured a lot throughout his NFL career, but he is also extremely talented when he is on the field. The Steelers could use some help at the tight end position next season, should they consider kicking the tires of Eifert? Even knowing his health background?
