Who is ready for some meaningless NFL football?!
I can only imagine there aren’t many people raising there hands at the above question, but regardless the NFL released their full preseason schedule Monday. As for the Pittsburgh Steelers, their 4-game preseason schedule is shown below:
2017 Steelers Preseason (Dates and Times TBD)
Week 1: @ NYG
Week 2: vs ATL
Week 3: vs IND
Week 4: @ CAR
The Steelers normally play the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles every preseason. A bit odd to not see the Eagles here though. Most of the preseason games are played predominately by backups and third stringers. The third preseason game acts as a dress rehearsal game and the starters usually play up to about a two quarters at most, and the Colts will be that team — someone the Steelers play in the regular season as well.
The Steelers, as always, will host two preseason games, while taking their show on the road for a pair of games. The NFL continues to be under fire for charging full price for these preseason games which don’t show the starters for more than a half, and are totally meaningless, but every year fans show up in throngs almost blood thirsty for NFL football.
If you can’t afford the ticket for a regular season game, the preseason is the next best thing. Therefore, mark your calendars and plan your trip to the mecca that is Heinz Field.
